PICKLEBALL
Pickle ball is a paddle sport similar to racquet sport that is a combination of elements of Tennis, Badminton ad Table Tennis. Two or Four players use paddle made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball that has 26 -40 holes over a net.
This sport shares features of other racquet sports like dimensions and layout of a badminton court , net and rules somewhat similar to that of tennis with several modifications.
Pickle ball was invented in mid 1960's as children's backyard game, slowly and steadily garnering world wide popularity.
In our very own Sundarban this game was being introduced by few enthusiastic players and is continuing in spreading it. The Team Sundarban participated in few tournaments and bagged few medals too. This week we are bringing up few glimpses of the sport of our very own residents who are also a part of governing councils district wise, state wise, nation wide and very recently in international council too.
